Solar Energy |
|
Solar energy is a renewable resource that will not harm our environment. Unlike the more conventional sources of energy, such as fossil fuels or even nuclear energy, solar energy is readily obtainable pretty much anywhere on the planet. The best part is that the sun does not charge people for its use. Solar energy can be used in many ways – to provide hot water, heat, and electricity. Solar modules or arrays can be pole-mounted, ground-mounted, or building integrated, depending on the site or needs of the consumer. The Solar Stone, L.L.C. provide several options, including grid-tied or off-grid solar installations. Off-grid customers obtain all their electricity from the sun and store excess energy in a battery bank. Grid-tied customers use the grid as a storage facility to give and take energy as needed from the local electrical company. In essence, a grid-tied customer uses the grid much like the off-grid customer uses the battery bank. Energy not used from the solar array is transferred to the electrical grid and potentially purchased back when the sun is not shining. This kind of system allows the consumer some flexibility when choosing a solar installation as it means that it is not necessary to produce all their own electricity. Instead, the customer can choose to install a system that meets their budget. All the energy produced takes dollars off the electrical bill. Furthermore, significant State and Federal incentives and net-metering are available to promote the use of solar energy. |
